My passion for studying communication and media began my freshman year in college when I took my first children’s media course (the class was called children’s television so that gives you an idea of how long ago this took place). I spent the next four years working toward my B.S. in Communications/Media with a concentration in radio, television, and film. While pursuing my education, I gained valuable, hands-on experience working as a videographer and photographer at a small, family-owned studio. I went on to obtain my M.S. in Applied Communication from Fitchburg State University where I also worked as an adjunct instructor for several years. In 2012, I co-founded Screen Savvy Kids to bring media literacy education to children (and adults) throughout Massachusetts and beyond!
